Things to Do

Rosemary Beach is just one of the many stunning beach towns located along scenic highway 30A.

Spend time strolling along the town center where you will find a sweet little book store, great coffee, clothing stores and waterfront restaurants.

The architecture alone with its European influence is so dreamy and adds tons of romance to your babymoon.

With all of 30A at your fingertips, you will love exploring the surrounding picturesque towns including Alys Beach, Seaside, Watercolor and beyond. Each of these towns are just a few miles from Rosemary Beach and have their own distinct architecture and aesthetic.

One of our favorite things to do in this area is hike in the protected coastal sand dunes at Grayton Beach State Park.

For the ultimate babymoon relaxation, consider booking a rejuvenating day at Neapolitan Spa.

One of the highlights in Naples is relaxing on the soft, white sand beaches in places like Clam Pass Park and Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park

Art lovers will adore the Naples Art District filled with galleries highlighting incredible local artists. You could even consider purchasing a piece of local art to display in your little one’s nursery!

Fort Myers is a great Florida babymoon destination for couples who appreciate a smaller town feel while still being right on the water.

You could spend all day moseying in and out of shops while indulging your coffee and ice cream cravings.

Explore the lush gardens and museum at the Edison and Ford Winter Estates, where you will find a really unique peek into the history of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford.

For a little adventure, head to the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve, which has a mile-long boardwalk hike among the wetland trails. Here you will be able to observe a slew of wildlife and plant life.

4. Florida Keys

The Florida Keys are a group of islands just off the southern tip of Florida, making it one of the best babymoons in Florida.

The Keys are connected to mainland Florida by an overseas highway for easy access.

Things to Do

First off, you can’t miss Key West, which is the most well known city, and for good reason.

The colorful houses surrounded by palm trees right on the beach are so picturesque, you might feel like you’re dreaming!

Make sure you spend a good amount of time on the iconic Duval Street, which is a hub of restaurants and shops filled with Key West culture. It is just a mile long, so easily walkable.

You CAN’T visit the keys without taking in a sunset at Mallory Square. Don’t forget your phone—you’ll want to take plenty of pictures!

The coral reefs are one of the main attractions for people who love to snorkel or scuba dive. If you’d rather stay above the water, there are also opportunities for kayaking, paddle boarding and jet skiing while taking in the stunning views.

For animal lovers, hop on over to Islamorada and check out the Theater of the Sea, a marine mammal park. These lagoons are home to stingrays, dolphins, sea turtles, sharks, sea lions, coastal birds and more.

Where to Stay

The Florida Keys have so many incredible resorts, it can be hard to choose! We definitely recommend getting a room with a view, since the scenery here is so stunning.

Some of the most highly rated resorts include: Isla Bella Beach ResortBaker’s Cay Resort, and Largo Resort.

5. Anna Maria Island

This quaint, exclusive island is one of our favorite places in Florida. It’s even an excellent day trip from Tampa.

No high-rise structures are allowed to be built here, so it just oozes old-school Florida charm without all the commercialization.

Things to Do

We recommend renting bikes, segways, or a golf cart to explore Anna Maria Island.

With the island being only 7 miles long and about half a mile wide, you really don’t need a car to get around.

We enjoy visiting each of the main beaches while in AMI, our favorite being Bean Point Beach at the northernmost tip. Take a beach chair, a book and a refreshing drink and you won’t want to move for hours!

There are three piers on Anna Maria Island and we recommend exploring all three. Each has beautiful restaurants with 360 degree views.

Clear kayak tours are also at the top of the list for any AMI itinerary! Speaking of itineraries, check out these blog posts for more Anna Maria Island planning resources!

Where to Stay

While there are so many amazing Airbnbs on the island, our top recommendation would be Joie Inn, one of the most well-designed and beautiful places to stay in AMI. Just look it up and you’ll see what I mean!

6. St. Augustine

Known as the oldest city in the United States, St. Augustine is full of historic charm—with cobblestone streets to boot.

If you like that old-world feel, St. Augustine could be the perfect Florida babymoon destination for you!

Things to Do

To explore the history of St. Augustine, add to your itinerary places like Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine, Lightner Museum, and Castillo de San Marcos National Monument.

For ultimate relaxation (the ultimate goal of every Florida babymoon, right??), take a sunset cruise! This will likely need to be booked in advance to ensure availability.

Spend some time strolling St. George Street, full of local boutiques and yummy cafes. Then, head to one of the many spas such as St. Augustine Massage Therapy, for a prenatal couple’s massage.

Of course, no babymoon is complete without some serious R&R on the beach! The perfect spot for this is Anastasia State Park, where you can even book adventure tours to view dolphins, manatees, and sea turtles!

Where to Stay

To truly take in the culture of St. Augustine, we recommend staying at a historic hotel such as The Collector Inn or Renaissance St. Augustine.

7. Amelia Island

Amelia Island is just off the coast of Florida’s Atlantic coast.

This destination is perfect if you wish to stay away from the larger cities and head to somewhere more unique.

Things to Do

Downtown Amelia Island is filled with old-world charm. You will be able to explore antique shops, museums, boutiques, and even play some mini-golf.

Main Beach is the must-see shoreline. In addition to the beautiful views, this beach offers golf, a skate park (okay, maybe not for the mama-to-be…but still fun to watch!), and dinner with a view.

Kayak and paddle board tours can be a great way to explore the coast!

Amelia Island even offers a fishing charter– a unique experience even if you haven’t been fishing before.

Where to Stay

Beautiful local resorts include the OmniRitz-Carlton, and our personal favorite, The Addison on Amelia Island.

8. Miami

Miami blends relaxing beaches with the bustling city, making it one of the best babymoon locations in Florida!

Things to Do

No trip to Miami is complete without visiting the iconic South Beach, which is home to some of the most stunning beaches on the Atlantic coast.

In this area, luxury and glamour are infused into every restaurant, boutique, and spa (where you will definitely want to book an elevated prenatal massage!).

For a touch of culture and unique vibes you won’t get anywhere else, explore the colorful neighborhoods of Havana and Wynwood.

South Pointe Park Pier is one of the most romantic places in Miami, especially at sunset! It may be a bit crowded, but it’s worth it for this beautiful view.

Other places you will want to add to your itinerary would be the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, Everglades National Park, Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, and the Cape Florida Lighthouse.

Where to Stay

There is definitely no shortage of luxury resorts in Miami! Consider staying at The Vagabond HotelThe Elser Hotel, or an elegant VRBO

9. Orlando

If you want to feel like a kid again before having one of your own, Orlando is the perfect place to relive those childhood dreams!

Things to Do

Okay, I can’t have a list of things to do in Orlando without Walt Disney World at the top, right??

You will want at least one full day to explore this magical amusement park.  Other theme parks to visit include Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios, and Epcot.

This wouldn’t be a completely relaxing Florida babymoon, but rather an adventurous vacation with some relaxation sprinkled in.

The perfect place to find that slower pace is at one of the many popular beaches close to Orlando. Visit Daytona Beach, Cocoa Beach, or New Smyrna Beach to soak up the sand and the sun.

When traveling to Orlando, we also recommend a day trip to Cape Canaveral, a truly unique place to turn your trip into an educational experience.

Learn about space travel at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex–if you’re lucky, you might even catch a launch!

We always love finding the best botanical gardens when we travel, and the Harry P Leu Gardens fits the bill.

Meander around these 50 acres and you’ll find lakes, flowers and 200-year-old oaks. This is the perfect way to wrap up your Orlando babymoon!

Where to Stay

Consider staying at the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort, or for something even more unique, look into the Orlando Lakefront Tiny Home Community!

10. Sarasota

Back to the Gulf Coast destinations, Sarasota provides that easygoing vibe for your Florida babymoon.

Things to Do

Start your trip strolling through the historic streets of downtown Sarasota, popping into cute boutiques and grabbing an iced coffee at the local cafe.

Next, hit up one of the beautiful beaches like Siesta Key (ranked the #2 beach in the U.S.!) or Lido Beach.

The shallow, emerald waters of Siesta Key are the ideal place to cool off from the Florida heat.

Feeling a bit more adventurous? Rent a kayak and explore the serene mangrove tunnels at South Lido Nature Park.

For a romantic evening, catch a sunset at one of the waterfront restaurants along the St. Armands Circle, indulging in fresh seafood and decadent desserts. The perfect place to eat for two!

Other top sites include The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, Ca’ d’Zan, Bayfront Park, and Marie Selby Botanical Gardens.

Where to Stay

Kick off your shoes and sleep in at the Hyatt (with views for days!) or the ever-popular Ritz-Carlton, which is also right on the water.

Best Restaurants

Babymoon Travel Tips

  • Fly during the second trimester if possible—it’s usually the most comfortable time for travel.
  • Make sure your accommodations have easy beach access or on-site dining for low-effort relaxing.
  • Book popular restaurants in advance–many restaurants fill up quickly.
  • Schedule in extra downtime—pregnancy fatigue is real!
  • Pack comfy shoes, sunscreen and a wide-brimmed hat (Florida sun can be intense).
  • Give yourself a couple weeks to plan out your list of what to take on your beach trip–trust me, it’s way less stressful than realizing you forgot something the night before!
