1. Colorado Springs
Colorado Springs is a beautiful town in central Colorado known for it’s incredible views of Pikes Peak.
Things to Do
A trip to Colorado Springs must begin at the Garden of the Gods, a stunning Natural National Landmark featuring the iconic soaring geological formations and active wildlife. The Perkins Garden Trail is ideal for an easy, paved hike with gorgeous views.
There is even a highly-rated Jeep tour if you don’t feel like walking!
For some of the most beautiful scenery in Colorado, head to Seven Falls! At the end of a .8 mile paved trail, you will find seven awe-inspiring waterfalls that you can view from the ground, or ride an elevator to a beautiful overlook.
Animal lovers can’t miss one of the best zoos in the country, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. This zoo has many unique interactive experiences and some of the best views of Colorado Springs. Make sure to book your tickets in advance, as they do sell out at times.
Cave of the Winds offers unique cave tours, which are always a favorite. The “Discovery Tour” is the one we did, and what we would recommend since it is the easiest.
The Flying W Ranch is famous for its delicious chuck wagon dinner and show, but the beautiful grounds are just as impressive! I went here as a kid, then returned as an adult and loved it just as much.
If you don’t mind driving about 40 minutes from Colorado Springs, you can’t miss Paint Mines Interpretive Park! Note that some paths can have sand and uneven terrain. I recommend staying on the wide, even paths and wearing shoes with good traction when pregnant.

Tips for Your Colorado Babymoon
- Make sure to contact your doctor or midwife before your trip to discuss any possible limitations.
- If you are not used to the high altitude, take it easy and allow your body to adjust. Staying hydrated and keeping high-protein snacks on hand can help you feel your best.
- Some Colorado hiking trails can have uneven (and even slick) terrain, which may not be safe when you are pregnant. I recommend checking the details and review of any hike on All Trails so you know what to expect.
- If you’d rather have a whole house to yourself, check out one of the many great VRBOs in Colorado.
- When looking for a souvenir, consider purchasing a piece of local art for the nursery or a “going home” outfit from a local boutique for your little one!
The Best Time to Visit Colorado for Your Babymoon
Since adventure sports won’t be on your babymoon itinerary, I suggest going late spring through early fall. During this time of year, Colorado really shows off its beautiful colors and scenery. In addition, the weather will likely be warm, yet not too hot.

What to Pack for Your Babymoon
In addition to your normal packing list, you may consider packing the following items:
- Pregnancy pillow
- Comfortable shoes with good traction
- Sunscreen and bug spray
- Compression socks
- Ice packs or heating pads (as directed by your doctor)
- A large water bottle
- Plenty of healthy snacks
